Healthy lifestyle - part III

In the last part of the presentation I would like to present some tips for a healthy life:

1) Eat properly – 5 times a day

- remember about breakfast – it’s a good start for a day, and forget about supper after 6.00 p.m. – it’s too late for your body to metabolize it. What’s more, try to eat regularly at similar hours of the day

2) Avoid stress – if it is impossible, try to limit stressful situations or relax if possible because stress is said to be the most common reason of heart attacks, strokes and gastrointestinal diseases. So listen to music, have a hobby, meet friends

3) Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables – cooked, fresh, steamed – they give energy, improve complexion and physical and mental state

4) Drink a lot of water at least 2l a day – it cleanse the body of toxins and helps your kidneys function well so you feel good

5) Avoid too much fat and sugar – especially fast food, they raise cholesterol and in the long run lead to laziness and carelessness not mention obesity

6) Avoid couch-potato lifestyle

– go for a walk, do some gardening, parents should encourage their children to do some activities outside instead of playing computer games

7) Have a positive attitude to life – smile, laugh, have some fun because it increases the level of serotonin in your blood, which influences the cardiovascular, renal, immune and gastrointestinal systems in your body.

8) And last but not least - Don’t smoke or drink alcohol .

Remember it’s never too late to change your lifestyle.

Questions:

1) Do you think that your lifestyle is healthy? What do you do keep fit?

2) Do you think that Polish people live healthy lives?

3) Can you recommend any tasty and healthy recipes?

  1. I don't think my lifestyle is healthy because of many reasons. First of all I never eat breakfast and the biggest appetite I have after 6 p.m :) I know also that I am not very fit, during the summer I ride on a bike and I try to do some exercises but in the winter I am to lazy to do anything. But as you wrote in piont seven I have positive attitude, I laugh very often so it keeps me alive:) and most important thing I don't smoke.
I think Polish people lead pretty healthy lives. But still I think it's hard to mobilize ourselves to do some sports be more active, especially during the winter. We just need a motivation.)
About recipes there are many delicious and healthy salads. Personally I love iceberg lettuce with tomatos sprouts and you can put there whatever you want and add in the end vinaigrette sauce. And of course everything which is roasted is also very tasty and healthy because you don't need to use oil, so you can roast vegatables or meet, it's delicious and much more healthier than fried things.

  2. My lifestyle is totally unhealthy - I eat one meal at about 6 p.m. and that`s all. I don`t do sports, I smoke but I don`t have any problems with my health at the moment. I think that Polish people don`t live healthy because we are having less and less time for that. I can`t recommend any single recipie ;)

  3. To be honest my lifestyle is not as healthy as I would like it to be. First of all, I am still in rush and I do not eat regularly. What is more, I do not cook on my own. I usually eat in fast food restaurants. Even though I am aware of the fact that they are unhealthy, I like burgers, pizzas, etc. I often prefer to eat fast food that to wait for a helthier dinner in the restaurant. I personally do not think that meals at the restaurants are healthy, evn if they resemble the home made food. They contain a lot of soda that is to cheat our stomach and makes us foget about hunger. Personally, I do not think that Polish people lead a healthy lifestyle. That's the fact that nowadays it is easier to purchase various ingredients than twenty years ago, but still people prefer to purchase pre-made products that contain lots of artificial ingredients. Thinking about a recipe I could recommend you, unfortunately, I do not cook on my own and I am not able to present you any good recipes. However, I think it is good to reduce the amount of sauces we add to any meal. I not the sauces make the meals taste better but they contain lots of calories.

  4. Funny to see so much comments about commenters living unhealthy:) Nonetheless, I'm one of them, but I'm trying to change that. It's amazing how much can be done by simply eating diverse food 5 times a day. This can do wonders.

Other thing is that I'm not sure if water is a cure to anything. There was an article in New Scientist where it was stated that it's more or less a myth that water does anything great in human organism.

  6. My lifestyle isnt healthy but I'm working on it.
The lack of time ruins all my plans because I eat when I can not when I want.
I love Polish cuisine and in my opinion Polish people have healthy lifestyle. Why? Its simple. In big cities people eat in fast food restaurants because not having time but having more money. In small cities people eat home cooked meals, healthy vegetables etc because its important to spend time together during breakfasts, dinners and its also cheaper than trash from fast foods.

  7. 1) Do you think that your lifestyle is healthy? What do you do keep fit?

My eating habits changed after I started working full time. At first I was eating out every single day, but in log term you get sick of bars and restaurants close to your office. As a matter of fact, I prefer my own food and every now and then I cook and take my lunch in a box :) Far healthier and cheaper most of the times.

    2) Do you think that Polish people live healthy lives?

    3) Can you recommend any tasty and healthy recipes?
