Photoshop instead of plastic surgery, or how else can we fool the time.

PART 2

I also believe that a very large role in shaping the canons of beauty play computer graphic artists who are often under the influence of inspiration; there is so embellished figure on the cover that often at "first glance we do not know who it is.

Here I would like to show the campaign's billboard dove, which was not only barred, as a promotional campaign, but even it got a negative publicity.

Magazine covers, present us with perfect women and men. Beautifully-looking aging grandmother, full of vigor parent ‘s of children.

Leaders are skinny models with sunken cheeks, showing excellent matching clothes, like the store hangers. What is the truth about this? I think not one of us has had time to find out.

Referring here to the plastic surgery, you may consider such non-surgical treatments for improving appearance. The whole procedure is very similar, improving, learning, reduction, slimming, zooming, smoothing.

Thanks to the Photoshop, you can get a really great effect, without leaving home, without spending a fortune without any effort.

Promoting this type of behavior has irreversible consequences: young girls and boys are becoming victims of anorexia, the quest for excellence.

An example of such irresponsibility of the media, is promoting the program TOP MODEL, where one of the lead with a smile on his lips, boasted how they had slimmed down contestants.

Shouldn’t the designers think of ordinary people? Why do we admire those who promote ill-

behavior?

Don’t you think that the media should be blamed for anorexia?

What can we do about the irresponsible behavior of young girl?

  1. In modest opinion designers should create for first of all ordinary people, not only for the very specific target market.

I have no idea why most of people admire ill lifestyle. Personally I try to live and eat healthy with no strict diet. I believe that thise blind admiration comes from weak human psychic that is vurneable to the medias. Nowadays less and less people are capable of thinking for themselves.

That is why medias have ennormous influence on humans. For example in TV ors newspaper you will not find ugly or fat people. It is the reason why young girls are brainwashed and have complexes that lead to serious diseases.

Personally I never head a such problem and I do not know how to help young girls. In my opinion there is no cure for stupidity.

  2. Media? I think not. Rather I should blame fashion designers. They promote ‘hanger for clothes’ then normal people. Everything causes deviation in young girls mind. Media only participate in that procedure publishing fashion shows. But the main thing is our knowledge and mind. We should notice the differences between normal diet and obsession. All hope in parents, family and education. But as my previous writer said sometimes there is no cure for foolishness.

  3. In my opinion designers are not guilty but of course it seems a little strange for me when I see models look like a hangers.
The cause of anorexia and other health problems of a young girls is lack of communication between them and their parents. Maybe also some problems with peers at school or some psychic disorders. Media are definitely not main cause of these problems.
And about what Krzystof said it's not stupidity especially when we talk about young people. Teenagers do such a things because they're looking for acceptance. It's rather stupidity of adults who don't see some things, what is going on with their childs or students, younger friends etc. Adults have much more experience or they should have..

Eee, we don't must, simply we can be immortal like Krzysztof Ibisz :):)

I should blame..., hmm who? for what? Companies who want earn more? Fashion designers or designers who want be popular?
I think that we should blame yourself... for that we want fool the time.

  5. n my opinion, the mode of anorexia are responsible fashion designers and media that promote the fashion for being thin. I think it's mainly the media fault because they show us colorful pictures in newspapers with the mega-slim models, which are used to hang on them clothes.

I am glad also that there are companies that have decided to counter this marketing and promote normal shapes.

  6. As we can read photoshop can be more dangerous than surgery. it is powerfull weapon not only in technical sense. using its powers one can create surrealistic world... which is so beautiful... so beautiful that everyone dream to be the part of it. On every step there are advertisements with role models. If they are everywhere one, beeing different, can feel uncomfortable. And it isnt so bad, worst is when there is someone who doesnt fit to this adverts in any centimetre... he can fill depressed. in my oppinion there are to many adverts, and to many with only "beauties".

  7. Don’t you think that the media should be blamed for anorexia?

They should'nt be blamed as it's their job and they have to earn money or they will go out of business.

For me they can say or show whatever they want, if people will follow these examples then it's their fault not the media.

What can we do about the irresponsible behavior of young girl?

Her stupidity is her problem, eventually her family but not 'our', we shouldn't do anything at all.

Futhermore if you don't like that what TV is doint then just don't watch this TV.

  8. We cannot put the whole blame for anorexia at media. Without a doubt media create a distorted image of people who look like movie stars. To a great extent media are responsible for young teenagers desperately starving themselves for better looks. However, when pondering this problem we cannot also forget about the influence which the environment has on the teenagers. We have to remember that the closest family is also responsible for any mental health problems.
Definitely the best thing we can do about the irresponsible behavior of young girls is not to give up on them. We should do our best to educate them and show them what effects the irresponsible behavior can have on their lives both at present and in the future. The best way to solve the problem of irresponsible behavior among young girls is to set a good example and teach them what is good and what is wrong so that they could avoid making more and more stupid mistakes.

  9. Some time age I heard that it will changed. I mean that the trend will be different because people don't want to look at plastic faces in magazines no longer. But...I don't think that it is possible. The situacion is dangerous specially for teenagers who don't accept theirs bodies... but who take care of it.

Shouldn’t the designers think of ordinary people?
Designers? They can't do anything. Showing a plastic body or natural is not their decision. Of course they can suggest a different solution or concept but someone have to accept it. The problem is different because even if some firm is keen on the idea of for an example natural body they don't have enough courage to do it. They prefer to avoid the risk that customers will not buy their product. We don't have to many such a courage firms as Dove. I don't know if you like theirs campaigns but I think that it is a really big thing.
