Strange behaviors: part03

Strange addictions

I would like to present you some of the strangest strange behaviors. Celebrities's OCD is like a joke compared to this guys:

  • Glass eater

Brrrr, yack... it's pain to watch. How the hell this is even possible?

  • Couch cushion craving

    Another weirdo.

  • Bodybuilding

I only regret that they didn't show her before transformation in a bodybuilder.

  • Eating cigarette ashes

My teeth hurts when I watch this. Also I really want to throw up when she is eating those ashes.

  • Eating household cleaners

Sad story. I feel sorry for her.

  • Chulk eater

    At least she looks healthy.

  • Eating toilet paper

  • Compulsive scab picking

How to treat OCD?

I think that this two clips summarize how can you treat OCD and other mental disorders. Meditation probably isn't gonna work (at least fast). If you have similar condition – seek professional help.

Questions:

  1. After watching clips about strange food habits do you want to taste any of them? If so tell us about it! :)

  2. What “foods” or behaviors especially sicken you?

  3. Do you think that this show (“My Strange addiction”) uses this sick people to attract viewers? Is it moral despite the fact that they (producers of the show) provide them with free psychological help? (We have to take to the account that the health care in USA is expensive and there's no public free health care like in Poland).

  4. Did you have any strange “hobby” (similar to presented) when you were a child? If so share it with us! :)

  1. 1. Always when I want to eat my computer I think how expensive it was and that's the only matter that stops me. I'm too poor form my addiction. I know many people have this problem - good drugs are usually expensive.

    2. Any of them. I find them nice and adorable. Why do you think they should sicken anybody?

    3. I don't know. I can't judge these people. Don't judge to not be judged ;-)

    4. Oh, I had many strange hobbies when I was a child. They were so terrifying that you don't really want to know. That would be immoral to present such gloomy things on this educational blog.

  2. This is horrible..few days ago I watched documentary on National G. Channel about girl who eats the chalk. It looked and sounded scary, she could eat 2 or 3 boxes daily. That's why she became to have a health problems like rheumatism. And she's only 22! can you imagine?
question is why does she do it// people like her, addicted to various strange things like you showed in you presentation, they mostly have very serious psychic problems. This girl I wrote about, told her story. She had a very difficult childhood.. so she found a manner of how to deal with it.
I don't know what should I think about this show. But if it really helps people then it's ok I guess. And maybe if someone has the same problem, will learn what is the reason of that 'strane' behaviors.
I don't remember if I do something like that when I was a little. Who knows.. maybe:)

  3. Yes, I always wanted to try a toilet paper... especially with a blueberry jam ;)
I think this movies could be fake... Or it is somethink like "Rozmowy w toku". In my opinion television presents it only to increase audience. It should be better way to help that people.
"Unfortunately" I was a normal child :-) or maybe I don't remember any strange behaviours..
Summarizing - TV producers shows us many strange things to increace a audience and earn money. I think 50% is fake. Good exmple is a "rozmowy w toku" whicha a mentioned erlier. I don't like that kind show and people who are shown there.

  4. Hehe I am really keen on your presentation:)

In the primary school my colleague ate a chalk:) Maybe he still likes munching a piece of it:)

Did I have any strange hobby?
Hym...I don’t remember or perhaps I displaced that recollection... I don’t like living on memories:)

  5. Eating a chalk... Actually that fact doesn't surprise me. I sow few times children eating wall-paintings (plasters) and chalks. That's the normal organism behavior of missing some micro-elements. Natural way of protect the body.
But, let's back to the main topic.
    1) Yeah, same as Asia sometimes I want to eat something from electric menu - but not the notebook, rather cellphone. Sometimes I have enough of calls and callers.
    2) It's hard to upset or sick me so easy. Unfortunately Non of them. But if you want I can share with you really sicken movies.
    3) Completely no idea. Making shows, showing after-effects and cures.
The same with anorexia. If we collect as much viewers as we can, we can avoid more illness.
    4) Whoa, there were so many things when I was a child. But now, I couldn't write anything - simply do not remember.

  6. I don't have any nutrition deviation. For me chulk is used in combination with blackboard and toilet paper with ... ;)

    I don't care, sorry ;)

Unfortunately I don't have opinion on that subject. I have never watched that kind of show. I have no idea how is it lead and what is the point of it, so it is hard for me to make any statements on that subject.

  7. Yes I do, I have such hobby. I collect 10zl banknotes ;) I already I have more than 200 of them. Each one is secured and ironed ;)

  8. I even have special box made from plexi glass made specially for the size of my collection.

  9. I've seen many times children eating chalk, or even licking fingers after visiting blackboard. I've also heard the opinion that it's due to calcium deficiency in the body. I'm not surprised, in schools, there are many malnourished children. Let me not to comment videos I've just watched, please.

  10. Eating household cleaners? I do not understand people who are doing something that is just awful!

I heard about the models that eat cotton balls, the anorectic who eat the earth and grass - all in all, when I was probably a year, I ate it because it was fun, green, and I could reach it with the pen for kids:)

  11. I believe that these films can be false, just to attract viewers. But certainly there are people who are exactly like they do. Except that it's probably a disease, because otherwise it can not be named. Eating toilet paper, and even more glass! In comparison to the characters I am an ordinary, even the average person. Never did the things that they did such a sensation.

  12. hmm... nah.. i don't want to taste any of those ;)

Did you know that Vincent Van Ghogh used to eat paint and drink turpentine?

  13. Also, instead of ridiculous shows i would like to recommend you two absolutely moving feature films about mental problems:

    1. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
    2. K-Pax

  14. If these people feel good eating whatever they want - leave them alone... if they feel bad just because that's rare and so - considered abnormal - pity and shame.

And is stupid making videos with them but if they want it... their decision.

  15. After watching the clips about strange food habits I do not think I want to eat anything even regular food. I do not understand how people can eat glass or couch cushions or what is worse cigarette ashes. These things are not edible and can make you sick. I do not ever want to try any of these things.

I think the worst is eating glass. It must be painful to eat glass. I do not understand how this guy can eat glass and not hurt himself that bad.

If the producers are willing to help them fight their addictions than I think that it is ok. However it is also obvious that they do it for the purposes of their shows and popularity. It is also true that in the USA health care is really expensive and not everybody can afford it. If producers offer help to those people than I am for such shows.

I do not recall having any strange hobbies similar to these ones but even if I had it definitely was not dangerous or as sick as it is on the videos. I can remember however that I like the smell of the gas when tanking the car but it disappeared with time as I grew older and older.

  16. I have watched only 4 movies from your presentations and I do not want to see more :D I can not image where does it come from - such strange behaviours like a need to eat glass. It is so weird and how does this guy functions - I don't know. It must hurt, and his throat also must be wounded. Brr it made me feel not good while watching it.
Eating cigarette ash seems interesting ;D I wonder whether she prefers "fresh and still warm" ash, or cold :P Ofcourse I am joking here but I wouldn't like to have such disorder. I wonder what I would do if I had one like those you mentioned and how would my family react to it
